SAFETY PARKING THE MACHINE The Komatsu backhoe is set-up to be parked in a secure manor. If you will be leaving the machine for a short or long period of time, use all the security features equipped with the machine. PARKING ON LEVEL GROUND 1. Find a flat level surface to park on. 2. Place the directional control (1) in the neutral (N) position. 3. Lower the work equipment to the ground 4. Lower the outriggers to the ground. 5. Turn the engine off and remove the ignition key. 6. Set the parking brake. PARKING FOR LONG PERIODS OF TIME The possibility of having an unauthorized person tampering with the machine when it is unattended is significant.
Besides performing the same procedures listed above, use the locks when the machine is unat- tended. Keep in mind you are responsible for the security of your equipment when it is unattended.
