Order of Evaluation Order of Evaluation Expressions containing more than one operator are not evaluated in a simple left to right manner. The following table lists the order in which operators are evaluated. Within an expression, functions are evaluated first, with expressions within the function evaluated according to the table. The order of evaluation can be changed using parentheses. Operators within each pair of parentheses, starting with the most deeply nested pair, are completely evaluated according to the rules in the following table before any operators outside the parentheses are evaluated. Operators on the same level in the table are evaluated strictly left to right.
