SAMI G S 9.1.7 Group 17 - Ext. Communication These values can be altered with the SAMI GS running. 1 SAMI ID Number If very fast information on communication faults is needed, the value can be set lower. Too short a time-out setting may cause unnecessary time-out errors. Each SAMI GS connected to the RS 485 bus has to be identified with an ID number 1 to 31 when remote controlled. Each number can exist only once. Number 0 disables remote control when physical connection has been made but remote control is not allowed. 4 Comms. fault funct The Mode of operation depends on the setting of this parameter when a fault has occurred in communications between the master and a slave unit:
2 Bit Rate Select The bit rate can be set according to the device used to control connected units via the serial bus. The bit rate may also depend on settings of the possible interface converter, which has to be used if a control device does not have an RS 485 communications port. For the optional remote control panel SAGS 700 PAN the setting is 9600 bit/s. NONE The SAMI GS continues running with the last set parameter values and reference. FAULT The SAMI GS continues running and a fault message is displayed. If an output relay (RO1...RO3) is programmed as fault, this relay is activated. 3 Time-out Select Minimum value which can be set depending on the number of connected units.
It is recom- mended that this value is set as high as possible. FAULT+STOP The SAMI GS stops and a fault message is displayed. If an output relay (RO1...RO3) is programmed as fault, this relay is activated. 46 Parameter Range/Unit Description 1 SAMI ID Number 2 Bit Rate Select 3 Time-out Select 4 Comms. fault funct 5 Bad messag counter 6 Good mess counter 0 - 31 1200, 2400, 4800, 9600 BIT/s 0.5 s - 100.0 s None, Fault, Fault+Stop a number a number Identification of individual units connected to the serial link bus. Speed of data transfer between the master and slave units. The time which the SAMI GS waits for a response from a master before ending communication and giving a fault message.
Type of message and operation when a fault occurs in communication between the master and a slave unit. Number of messages not accepted between the master and a slave unit. Number of accepted messages between the master and a slave unit.
