1. OMRON 2POTS

Technical Note: OMRON 2POTS 1. OMRON 2POTS OMRON 2POTS is a CP2 option card with two rotary POTs that can be manually adjusted (ie with a small screw driver). The POTs will be used to manually set two values stored in PLC auxiliary memory. The 2POTS module communicates with the CP2 PLC using the Host Link protocol with default serial communication settings as shown below. One 2POTS hardware module can be installed in either Slot #1 or Slot #2, but not both. Figure 1: PLC Settings Screen Figure 2: 2POTS PLC Option Card POT1 will change the value into auxiliary memory area A642. POT2 will change the value into auxiliary memory area A643.

The POT turned CW to full stop will output 255 and the POT turned CCW to full stop will output 0 to auxiliary memory. All other output will be a linear representation of the POTs position between 0-255. 3
