Chapter 4 Handling Storing Long-term Before Long-term Storage Once ink is filled in the printer (once you use the printer), follow the instructions below to store the printer for a long period. Do not remove the ink cartridge form the printer. To prevent missing dots, do not expose the printer to excessive vibration of shock during transport. 1 Run a self-test print. 2 When dots are missing, press the Cleaning button for 3 seconds or more to perform a head cleaning. 3 After head cleaning, run a self-test print again to make sure there are no missing dots. If there are still missing dots, repeat step 2.
If printer output continually has missing dots, it may indicate that ink has dried out in the printer nozzles. In extreme cases, cleaning may not help to recover the missing dots, and the printer may require repair. 4 After the printer finishes its operations and the Power LED has changed from a flashing to a steady light, wait more than 10 seconds before unplugging the power cable. 4 The print head cap closes before unplugging the power cable from the outlet. 5 Store the printer in a cool (between 0-25 C {32-77 F}) and dark place. After Long-term Storage Do not turn off the power or open the printer covers during a head cleaning.
1 Check the expiration date of the installed ink cartridge. The ink cartridge expires two years after manufacture or 6 months after the package is opened. 99
