10. Transfer drum cleaning The bias on the imaging drum is negative, and the bias on the transfer drum is positive. Because the charge on the residual toner is made positive by the transfer drum cleaning roller, the toner moves from the transfer drum to the imaging drum, where it will be removed during imaging drum cleaning.
