Technician Handbook Air Conditioning for Collision Repair Compressor Oil Compressor Oil (PAG) CAUTION • Avoid skin contact with PAG oil. • Wear gloves. Electrical Circuits Electrical Circuits—low voltages generally pose little risk of electrical shock. However, many repairs require using equipment powered by 120 volts with high current. CAUTION Accidental short circuits can damage components or test equipment and shorts can burn. Observe the following to reduce the risk of personal injury: • Verify that all 120 volt equipment line cords are in good condition and properly grounded. • Using voltmeter: confirm the circuit source voltage is OFF by testing the circuit with a voltmeter.

Use a fused jumper wire to bypass components to test and protect against accidental short circuits. • Hybrid models have lethally high voltage circuits including the AC compressor. Follow all Repair Manual procedures and precautions especially when servicing any circuits with orange-colored insulation. - Only hybrid-certified technicians should service hybrid AC systems. - This course does not certify you to work on hybrid AC components.
