Always maintain a slow speed when trailering and towing and avoid sudden accelerations, quick maneuvers, and sud- den stops. Braking distance will be affected when towing a trailer. When towing a trailer, always maintain slow speed and allow more stopping distance than when not towing a trailer. Gasoline-Oil-Lubricant Recommended Gasoline The recommended gasoline to use in this ATV is EU unleaded 91 octane. In some areas, oxygenates (either ethanol or MTBE) are added to the gasoline. Oxy- genated gasolines containing up to 10% ethanol, 5% methane, or MTBE are acceptable gasolines. ! WARNING Riding an ATV without extra caution when towing a trailer will be hazard- ous.
Trailer towing can affect the handling and braking of the ATV. Avoid sudden accelerations and stopping of the ATV. Do not make quick maneuvers. Avoid uneven sur- faces and do not tow on hills. Never carry passengers in a trailer unless the trailer is designed for such use and has a rigid tow bar. Allow more stopping distance than when not towing a trailer. When using ethanol blended gasoline, it is not necessary to add a gasoline antifreeze since ethanol will prevent the accumulation of moisture in the fuel system. CAUTION Do not use white gas. Only Arctic Cat approved gasoline additives should be used.
Recommended Engine/ Transmission Oil Transporting ATV When transporting the ATV, Arctic Cat recommends that the ATV be in its nor- mal operating position (on all four wheels) and the following procedure be used. 1. Engage the emergency/parking brake and place the transmission in gear. The recommended oil to use is Arctic Cat ACX All Weather synthetic engine oil, which has been specifically formulated for use in this Arctic Cat engine. Although Arctic Cat ACX All Weather synthetic engine oil is the only oil recom- mended for use in this engine, use of any API certified SM 5W-50 oil is accept- able. 2. Secure the ATV with load rated hold-down straps. NOTE:
Suitable hold-down straps are available from your Arctic Cat ATV dealer. Ordinary rope is not recommended because it can stretch under load. CAUTION When using hold-down straps, care must be taken not to damage the ATV. CAUTION When transporting the ATV, make sure the brake lever lock is engaged, the transmission is in low range, and the ATV is properly secured. OILCHART I 45 45 45 45 CAUTION Division II - Operation/ Maintenance Any oil used in place of the recom- mended oil could cause serious engine damage. Do not use oils which contain graphite or molybde- num additives. These oils can adversely affect clutch operation.
Also, not recommended are racing, vegetable, non-detergent, and cas- tor-based oils.
