1.2 CYLINDER HEAD COVER 1.2 CYLINDER HEAD COVER The cylinder head cover completely encloses the valve mechanism on top of the cylinder head. Studs (qty 2) Figure 1-3 Cylinder Head Cover 1.2.1 Removal of Cylinder Head Cover Removal steps are as follows: 1. Remove the cylinder head cover cap nuts. See Figure 1-3. 2. Remove the cylinder head cover and gasket. Inspect the gasket, if damaged replace. See Figure 1-3. 3. If necessary, remove the cylinder head cover studs. 4. Clean the sealing surfaces of the cylinder head cover and the cylinder head.
