INSTALLING THE BALANCER DRIVE GEAR, BALANCER DRIVEN GEAR, AND OIL PUMP DRIVEN GEAR 1. Install: pin spring balancer drive gear (onto the buffer boss) NOTE: Align the punch mark a on the balancer drive gear with the hole b to the buffer boss. 2. Install: balancer drive gear 1 balancer driven gear 2 oil pump driven gear 3 a b 2 1 NOTE: Align the punch mark a on the balancer drive gear with the punch mark b on the bal- ancer driven gear. Install the oil pump driven gear with the “3B4” mark c facing out. c 3 New 5 3. Install: lock washers oil pump driven gear nut 1 4 2 balancer driven gear nut 2 3 NOTE:
Place an aluminum plate 3 between the teeth of the balancer drive gear 4 and bal- ancer driven gear 5 , then tighten the nuts. Apply the engine oil to the thread of axles and nuts. 1 4.
