Model Numbers What Model Do I Have? Freightliner Chassis Model Numbers Your vehicle can be referenced by either the Freightliner chassis model number or the Utilimaster body model number . Be careful to note the difference between Utilimaster’s Body Model Number 35 and Freightliner Chassis Model Number MT 35. They are not the same thing. Utilimaster builds bodies on Freightliner chassis designated by the Gross Vehicle Weight Rating (GVWR). Freightliner chassis model numbers always start with “MT.” They are MT35, MT45, and MT55. The fifth and sixth digits in the VIN number indicate Freightliner’s chassis model number which can be cross-referenced with Utilimaster’s body model number.
