Epson L-6034VW Operation Guide Introduction 17 Caution Before using the additional UV lamp curing unit, make sure there are no foreign substances such as scraps of paper or dust at the irradiated part with additional UV lamp curing unit and the base of the UV unit. If UV light is emitted while foreign substances such as scraps of paper, dust, or cleaning tools are stuck to the surface, smoke could be emitted or fire could ignite, and the substrate could catch fire. Make sure you remove any foreign substances such as scraps of paper or dust.
When a paper jam occurs, make sure that no scraps of paper are left at the irradiated part with additional UV lamp curing unit and the base of the UV unit. If any scraps remain, make sure you remove them. If UV light is emitted when scraps of paper remain, smoke could be emitted or fire could ignite, and the substrate could catch fire. A smoke detector is built-into the upper section of the rewinder. If the smoke detector is activated, immediately take appropriate safety measures. When checking the additional UV lamp curing unit, make sure you wear long sleeves and heat-resistant gloves.
Since the area around the light remains extremely hot for a while after emitting UV light, burns and injuries could occur. Make sure you take sufficient safety precautions. Check that the lamp has cooled sufficiently before replacing the lamp in the additional UV lamp curing unit. Burns could occur if you touch them while in operation or immediately after operation. If a burn does occur, run it under cold water immediately and consult your doctor.
