4-20 POWER TAKE-OFFS E UROCARGO Euro 4/5 4.6.6 Specific indications: correlation between PTO configuration and power take-offs installed There is no direct connection between the PTO mode (that can be activated via 21-pin connection) and the power take-offs physically installed in the vehicle. Therefore the external bodybuilder can freely define the necessary connections. This setting thus offers the possibility of using the PTO(s) installed with the different PTO configurations (for example for specific work cycles).

If is for example necessary to compose a work cycle in which the installed power take-off is made to work under different conditions, it is possible to use up to a maximum of 3 PTO modes. The activation of the corresponding PTO modes must be controlled from the body at the corresponding moments. Likewise it is possible to correlate a PTO mode even without a physically installed power take-off or with a number of physically installed power take-offs. 4.6.7 Power take-off depending on the clutch The power take-offs fitted on the gearbox can only be engaged with the clutch fully pressed. The PTO modes, on the other hand, can be activated regardless of the above.

With Allison transmission With the Allison gearbox the engagement of the installed power take-off is coordinated by the gearbox control unit and takes place in the following phases: - request to engage the power take-off (the gearbox control unit verifies the internal conditions to perform the operation safely: engine speed - activation of the solenoid valve by the control unit for engaging the power take-off; - if the power take-off and hand brake are engaged at the same time, the gearbox automatically goes into neutral and PTO mode 2 is activated (the relay is supplied, position:

gearbox control unit relay holder plate on the back wall of the cab); - verification of safe PTO operation (gearbox output speed The button for engaging the power take-off is located in the middle of the dashboard. ! Before activating the power take-off, the gearbox control unit checks several parameters (engine speed fied, the Allison gearbox control unit will automatically engage the power take-off. The limitations (final speed, peak torque, etc.) of a PTO mode that is still active however applyalso duringengagement.
