Mini-Shrike Single output handheld exploder The Mini-Shrike has been designed to provide military engineering with a lightweight, single ouput electronic exploder. Based on the proven Shrike technology, the Mini-Shrike is a single channel exploder, operable by one hand for the safe and reliable initiation od electro-explosive devices. FEATURES Mini-Shrike must be primed before any circuit can be fired. Firing requires the simultaneous depressing of buttons, which minimises accidental initation should the charged (or primed) unit be dropped. The output is inhibited when the Mini-Shrike is not fully primed, thus preventing partial firing.

An indication of continuity is available prior to firing and output energy cannot be released into a circuit whose resistance is more than the pre-set maximum. This level of resistance is well below that of the human body and therefore, completely eliminates any electrical hazard to the operator. OPERATION The single firing circuit is connected by means of spring-loaded terminals. Circuit continuity is checked by operating the TEST button. A green LED will indicate a positive connection. Lifting the PRIME flap on the right-hand side of the unit causes the red LED to flash, indicating the unit is primed. This typically take two seconds with good batteries.

While the red LED is flashing, the load circuit may be fired by operating both the TEST and FIRE button (FIRE location under the PRIME flap) simultaneously.
