CONTRIBUTORS Editors Bessie Burgos (Southeast Asian Regional Center for Graduate Study and Research in Agriculture (SEARCA)) was Program Head for Research & Development of SEARCA from 2010 to 2018. She earned her PhD degree in Science and Technology Studies from the University of Wollongong, New South Wales, Australia, and her Master of Management degree in Agricultural Business from the University of the Philippines Los Bacos (UPLB). She was Overall Coordinator of the School-Plus-Home Gardens Project of SEARCA, UPLB, and the Department of Education – Laguna in 2016–2017.
As Overall Coordinator, she provided oversight, guidance, and direction to the project and established linkages with various national and international organizations. Blesilda Calub (University of the Philippines Los Bacos), a university researcher, serves as Program Leader of the Organic Agriculture Program and Chair of the Interdisciplinary Studies Center on Organic Agriculture at the University of the Philippines Los Bacos.
Dr Calub leads programmes towards science-based and people-oriented sustainable organic agriculture through research, extension, teaching, public service, information material production, and technical s upport to various national and international agricultural community development in- stitutions. As Project Leader of the School-Plus-Home Gardens Project she facilitated participatory capacity- and knowledge-building activities that enabled stakeholders to be actively committed to sustaining and scaling up the education and nutrition of schoolchildren.
