MESSAGE FROM MAYOR RICK BLANGIARDI Aloha, Together with Department of Community Services, Elderly Affairs Division, we take great pleasure in presenting the updated Kūpuna Information and Assistance Handbook . This handbook is a key resource for our kūpuna, their families and caregivers to assure our elders are comfortable, healthy and have safe living environments as they age in place. The handbook provides valuable information on senior housing options, meal assistance, transportation, community services and much more. Family and caregivers can also find resources to adult day-care, in- home care, safety and fall prevention, and support group classes.

Please use and share the handbook with your loved ones, friends and neighbors. For more information, please visit www.elderlyaffairs.com or call our Kūpuna Helpline at 808-768-7700. Rick Blangiardi 1

HOW TO USE THIS BOOK To locate services, use the Table of Contents. For additional listings of companies, check the Yellow Pages of the telephone directory under similar headings, or search online. TTY refers to a phone number that connects to a device often used by individuals who have hearing impairments. If an agency is listed more than once, its address may appear only in the first entry. The inclusion of an agency in this handbook does not imply endorsement, nor is exclusion a reflection on the value or quality of an agency’s services. Located at the back of the book: Emergency Preparedness, Your Emergency Kit, and Frequently Called Government Numbers.

This handbook is available at www.elderlyaffairs.com. For more information, call the Kūpuna Helpline at 808-768-7700. The information contained in this handbook is subject to change at any time. 2
