Organizations and standards 3 3.1 Organizations This chapter provides an overview of existing European and international standardization bodies and institutes, and explains how they work together to draw up standards and directives. The technical implementation of this reference manual is based on the publication and implementation of directives, regulations and standards adopted within the European Union and internationally.
