EPSON — Notes on handling the air guns

L-6534VW Operation Guide Safety Instructions and Notes on Usage ❏ Use the touch panel to operate the application software installed in the press. This should only be used as the control panel for the press. ❏ Do not place anything weighing 5 kg or more on the workbench on the unwinder or rewinder side. Otherwise the workbench rollers may be forced out of their parallel positions. ❏ When using one roll substrate and any tension settings are changed during operation, an error may occur in the rotation speed of the drum. In the following cases, replace the paper core of the rewinder side with a new one.

- When changing the tension settings for the rewinder side - When cleaning the roller or manually rewinding the substrate - When Change Substrate is pressed while printing a job, and a new substrate is spliced to the old one (When Change Substrate is pressed, the tension changes to feed the splice.) ❏ Do not wind substrate that differs from the substrate type around the same paper core, replace it with a new paper core and then wind. A telescoping error occurs in the roll substrate on the rewinder side, the accuracy of the substrate feeding declines, and an error may occur in the rotation speed of the drum. ❏ Do not perform corona treatment for paper or foil paper substrates.

When the head nozzles are clogged or ink is dripping from the nozzles, you may not be able to remove static electricity from the substrate even if you use the ionizer. ❏ The tension roller detects tension applied to the substrate, and makes sure that tension is applied constantly. Do not lean on the tension roller. Also, do not place anything on the tension roller. Notes on ventilation ❏ Connect the exhaust for the corona treater to a processing device that vents outdoors. Ozone is generated when operating the corona treater. ❏ Connect the exhaust vent for the additional UV lamp curing unit to a ventilation device.

Heat and ozone are generated when operating the additional UV lamp curing unit. ❏ Connect the exhaust vent at the top of the main unit (facing sideways) to a ventilation device. When operating the main unit, an ink mist is generated along with an ink odor. ❏ Exhaust fumes from the press may emit an odor, irritate the eyes, nose, skin, and so on. Be sure to ventilate the area if you are concerned about the exhaust fumes. ❏ Depending on the adhesive used on the substrate, it may produce a strong odor when using the additional UV lamp curing unit for the press. Take the necessary measures, such as ventilating the area.

Notes on handling the air guns Do not aim the air gun nozzle (air exhaust nozzle) at other people, especially not the face and eyes. Also, make sure you wear protective glasses, masks, and so on to avoid trash from rebounding under the force of the air and striking you in the face. The force of the blow from rebounding trash and so on could cause loss of eyesight. 19
