STARTING AND DRIVING Setting a time interval VESPER Press the increase time interval key to extend the time interval, and press the decrease time interval key to shorten the time interval. In order to follow the vehicle ahead as stably as possible, the ACC allows the time interval to vary in certain situations. At low speeds, if the distance to the vehicle ahead is short, ACC increases the time interval slightly. Warning! ■ The driver is always responsible for regulating the vehicle speed. A short time interval gives you limited reaction time if an unexpected situation occurs in traffic, which may result in personal injury or death.
■ Only use time intervals permitted by local traffic regulations. ACC can be set to various time intervals to the vehicle ahead. Note! : Various time intervals to the vehicle ahead can be selected. When selected, the selected time will be displayed with 1 to 3 symbols on the instrument cluster. The greater the number of symbols, the longer the time interval is. □ If ACC does not seem to react when it is activated, this may be because the set time interval to the vehicle ahead does not allow an increase in speed. □ The higher the speed, the longer the distance to the vehicle ahead should be for a given time interval. Note!
□ When the lane lines on the instrument cluster is white, ACC controls the vehicle to follow the vehicle ahead at a preset time interval. □ When the lane lines on the instrument cluster is gray, there is no vehicle within a reasonable distance ahead. 194
