● The smoke emitted may irritate the skin and mucous membranes of the eyes and may cause breathing difficulties, especially in people with asthma or other health condi- tions. In this case, such people should get out of the car or open the Windows and doors to breathe fresh air. WARNING If the airbag system is faulty, the airbag may not trigger properly, not trigger at all, or trigger when it should not trigger, resulting in serious injury or death. ● In this case, you should go to the qualified workshop as soon as possible to check the airbag system. ● Wash hands and face with soap and water before meals if you have been exposed to the released soot.
● Never wipe eyes or touch open wounds with hands that have been exposed to smoke. ● Do not install child seats in front passenger seats.Remove installed child seats. Even if the front airbag is faulty, it can still trigger in an accident. ● If smoke and dust enter the eyes, wash the eyes with water in time. WARNING Troubleshooting Solvent-containing cleaners can loosen the sur- face of the airbag module cover. If the airbag is triggered in an accident, the broken plastic could seriously injure the occupant. Please refer to at the start of the chapter on page 37. The airbag system or seat belt tensioner is faulty The yellow light keeps on.

Types of front airbag systems for front passenger The system identified a functional failure in at least one airbag or seat belt tensioner. Deactivate the airbag system or seat belt tensioner with a diagnostic device When the ignition is switched on, the yellow light goes on for about four seconds and then blinks for about twelve seconds. Airbag system Only Volkswagen dealership can deactivate the front passenger front airbag Characteristics of airbag system: – Front passenger front airbag in the dash panel. – The indicator light in the instrument cluster is on. Deactivate at least one airbag or seatbelt ten- sioner with a diagnostic device. – Please go to the qualified workshop for repair.
