The exhaust system is designed to be maintenance free, al- though regular inspection is warranted due to the harsh operating conditions. Under normal conditions, the catalytic converter does not requirere placement unless it is damaged. On 1996 and later cars, a pre- and post-catalytic converter oxygen sensor is used at each catalytic converter. Be sure to take care when removing the system not to damage the sensors.
