Running ACE for the First Time Running ACE for the First Time This topic describes how to start the ACE software and load a workspace. Starting the ACE Software To start the ACE software: 1. Verify that the Omron Adept controller you want to connect to is on the same network as your com- puter. Note that you can also run the ACE software in simulation mode (without a controller). 2. From the Windows task bar, select: Start > Programs > Omron > ACE > ACE Optionally, you can double-click the "ACE" icon on the Windows desktop. ACE Icon The ACE splash screen opens, which shows the software version number and Status mes- sages. ACE Splash Screen The ACE Getting Started dialog box opens.
