Komatsu — Payload Meter Download Connector

Operation - Section 32 OM3241 Page 32-8 Operator Cab and Controls With the RSC switch in the ON position and the dial adjusted, the system will function as follows: As the truck speed increases to the set speed and the throt- tle pedal released, dynamic retarding will apply. As the truck speed tries to increase, the amount of retarding effort will automatically adjust to keep the selected speed. When the truck speed decreases, the retarding effort is reduced to maintain the selected speed. If the truck speed continues to decrease to approximately 5 kph (3 mph) below the set speed, dynamic retarding will turn off automati- cally.

If the truck speed must be reduced further, the operator can turn the dial to a new setting or depress the retard pedal. Data Storage Button Data storage button (1, Figure 32-6) is used to record a snapshot of the Statex III drive system. Passenger Seat The passenger seat is mounted on top of the right- hand portion of the center console. The area beneath the passenger seat provides a cabinet for various 24VDC electrical components. Consult the service manual for service involving any of these components. If the operator depresses the retard pedal, and the retard effort called for is greater than that from the automatic system, the demand from the pedal will override the RSC.

Statex III Download Port Statex III download port (14, Figure 32-6) is used by qualified personnel to access the Statex III electric propulsion diagnostic information and data. Engine Diagnostic Port (CENSE) Engine diagnostic port (13, Figure 32-6) is used by qualified personnel to access the engine diagnostic information for the CENSE system. Refer to the engine manufacturer’s service publications for trou- bleshooting information. FIGURE 32-7. PAYLOAD METER 1. Payload Meter 2.

Payload Meter Download Connector Engine Diagnostic Connectors Engine diagnostic connector (12, Figure 32-6) is for qualified personnel to access the Centry™ fuel con- trol system and Quantum system diagnostic informa- tion. The Centry system is optional. PAYLOAD METER Payload meter (1, Figure 32-7) and payload meter download connector (2) are used to provide manage- ment with operational data, such as tonnage hauled and cycle times. Refer to Section 60, Payload Meter III, for a complete description of the payload meter and its functions.

Payload Meter Download Connector Payload meter download connector (2, Figure 32-7) is used with a special cable to allow payload meter (1) to communicate with a portable computer.
