2 Models 2.1 Model classification The CW-C8000 series is classified into 2 ink types, namely, the gloss ink type and the matte ink type, depending on the black ink cartridge selected when the printer is first started up. The printer control software determines the model by the product name in the device ID, and the ink type by the model information request command (~H(IMM). The product names are defined by region, and are listed in section 2.2 List of product names. We recommend the following operation when the printer control software determines the ink type. Hold the ink type acquired from the printer in the printer control software.
