Helpline: 808-768-7700 www.elderlyaffairs.com The Elderly Affairs Division (EAD) has been the designated Area Agency on Aging ( AAA ) for O ʻ ahu since 1973. Created by the Older Americans Act of 1965 , EAD is one of approximately 620 designated AAA sites nationwide. Its mission is to develop a comprehensive and coordinated system of services to assist older persons in leading independent, meaningful, and dignified lives in their own homes and communities for as long as possible. The EAD coordinates advocacy efforts on behalf of older adults, encourages partnerships to improve and expand services, and contracts with agencies to provide support services to older adults and caregivers.
