EPSON — Notes on Handling Ink Cartridges

L-4733A/L-4733AW Operation Guide Safety Instructions and Notes on Usage ❏ Do not drop or knock it against hard objects; otherwise, the ink may leak. ❏ Do not touch the ink supply port or its surrounding area. Ink may leak from it. ❏ Do not touch the green chip on the side of the cartridge. Doing so may affect normal operation and printing. ❏ Although the ink cartridges may contain recycled materials, this does not effect product function or performance. ❏ Store in the same environment as the press unit's installation environment (temperature -10 to 40˚C/humidity 30 to 55%). Also, avoid direct sunlight.

❏ If you move the ink cartridge from a cold place to a warm place, leave it at room temperature for more than four hours before using the ink cartridge. ❏ Do not use an ink cartridge beyond the date printed on the cartridge carton. If you use an ink cartridge beyond the expiry date, it may affect print quality. ❏ Use up the ink cartridge within six months of installation for best results. ❏ Install ink cartridges in all of the cartridge holders. You cannot print if any of the cartridge holders are empty. ❏ Even while nothing is printed, the press uses ink from all cartridges during head cleaning and other maintenance operations to keep the print head in good condition.

❏ To maintain the quality of the head, this product stops printing before ink cartridges are completely expended; therefore, some ink is left in used cartridges. ❏ If an ink cartridge is installed for over one month, remove and shake the cartridge once a month. For white ink, make sure you mix the ink when you start the press. Print quality may deteriorate due to sedimentation of the ink. See the following for information on how to shake the ink. U “Replacing Ink Cartridges” on page 228 Also, be sure to reinstall the ink cartridge within 10 minutes. If the remaining ink in the ink supply port dries, it can cause the ink to clog.

❏ When the ink remaining in the ink cartridge falls below the minimum level, replace it with a new cartridge as soon as possible. ❏ Replace ink cartridges when the press is on. If cartridges are replaced when the press is shutdown, the product cannot detect the amount of ink remaining and so cannot print normally. ❏ If you do not have a new ink cartridge ready for installation when the old cartridge is expended, leave the expended cartridge installed in the press until the new cartridge is ready. If the press is left without the ink cartridge, the press may breakdown. ❏ Do not leave the press without ink cartridges installed for more than 10 minutes.

The inks inside the press may dry and you may not be able to print. ❏ To ensure optimum press performance, we recommend using genuine Epson ink cartridges. Using non-genuine products may have an adverse affect on the press or print quality, and prevent you from getting the optimum performance from your press. We can only guarantee the quality and reliability of genuine products. Any damage or malfunctions caused by the use of non-genuine products is not covered by the terms of the guarantee and will require a repair fee even within the warranty period. 15
