Parts that are typically replaced during an engine overhaul are listed below: Gaskets and seals Bearings and bushings Pistons (aluminum) and piston rings Cylinder sleeves Cylinder block cup plugs and cylinder head cup plugs Connecting rod capscrews Steel top pistons should not be replaced without first inspecting them for excessive wear or other damage.
