After harvest is before harvest. MAV ® (Maximum Air Velocity) Chopper. As yields increase, the amount of residue (straw and chaff) to manage also increases. How the residue exits is just as important as how it enters. Rapid, complete residue decomposition will improve next year’s planting season and yields. Residue chopped to a uniformly short length and spread evenly across the full width of the field is a decisive factor in next year’s success. Several different residue management solutions are available. The MAV system features 60 knives paired over the rotating drum with 31 stationary knives that can be engaged/ disengaged according to crop type.
