SBMA200312 MAY 2003 PRODUCT SAFETY RECALL BF175 • BF200A • BF225A MAIN ENGINE HARNESS INSPECTION SYMPTOM Honda M PE Pty Ltd . has initiated a safety recall for the BF175, BF200 and BF225 outboard motors. The routing of the engine wiring harness may allow contact with the throttle body under normal running conditions. Eventually, the repeated contact may wear through the wire’s insulation and cause a short circuit. This may cause a blown fuse (15A) and the engine will stop, or the short may cause the throttle cable to overheat and become difficult to move or, in the worst case, the throttle could become stuck. Nne One of the 15 amp fuses may blow stopping the engine.
