Komatsu — SAFETY MAINTENANCE INFORMATION

SAFETY SAFETY MAINTENANCE INFORMATION STOP ENGINE BEFORE CARRYING OUT MAINTENANCE q Stop the machine on firm, level ground. q Select a place where there is no hazard of falling rocks or landslides, or of flooding if the land is low. q Lower the work equipment completely to the ground and stop the engine. q Turn the starting switch to the ON position. Operate the work equipment control lever back and forth, left and right at the full stroke 2 to 3 times to eliminate the remaining internal pressure in the hydraulic circuit, and then push up safety lock lever (1) to the LOCK position (L). q Put blocks under the track to prevent the machine from moving.

TWO WORKERS FOR MAINTENANCE WHEN ENGINE IS RUNNING To prevent injury, do not carry out maintenance with the engine running. If maintenance must be carried out with the engine running, carry out the operation with at least two workers and do as follows. q One worker must always sit in the operator's seat and be ready to stop the engine at any time. All workers must maintain contact with the other workers. 2-39
