3.4 Environmental and Facility Requirements 3.4 3.5 22 Cobra 450, 500, and 650 User's Guide 19148-000 Rev. E robot base to help centralize the center of gravity. The robot must always be shipped in an upright orientation. Specify this to the carrier if the robot is to be shipped. vironmental and Facility Requirements The robot system installation must meet the operating environment requirements shown in the following table. Table 3-1. Robot System Operating Environment Requirements Ambient temperature 5 to 40°C (41 to 104°F) Humidity 35 to 90%, non-condensing Pollution degree 2 Vibration Less than 0.2 G during operation. Ideally, the environment should meet Vibra- tion Condition VC-B.
Electrical Noise, Immunity Complies with IEC EN 61000-6-2: Electromagnetic compatibility (EMC) - Part 6- 2: Generic standards - Immunity for indus- trial environments Electrical Noise, Emission Complies with IEC EN 61000-6-4: Electromagnetic compatibility (EMC) - Part 6- 4: Generic standards - Emission standard for industrial environments Grounding class Protective Earth grounding is Class C. ( Robot protection class IP20 (NEMA Type 1) IMPORTANT: The robot is rated at IP20, which means that it is not designed or intended for operation in wet environments. unting the Robot unting Surface The Cobra 450, 500, and 650 are designed to be mounted on a smooth, flat, level surface.
The mounting surface must be rigid enough to prevent vibration and flexing during robot oper- ation. We recommend a steel plate at least 15 mm thick mounted to a rigid tube frame. Excess- ive vibration or mounting flexure will degrade robot performance. The flatness of the mounting surface should be 0.2 mm or less. The mounting surface should be machined and its surface roughness should be 25S or less. The robot, operating at high speed, can generate up to 3500 N of reaction force, which is trans- mitted to the mounting bolts and plate. Inadequate mounting can cause the robot to slip or vibrate.
