M.H.C.V. Product PERFORMANCE The choice of rear Axle Ratio depends on the real mission of the vehicle and therefore following pages will illustrate in detail, tyres and "recommended" rear axle ratio, model by model in Euro 4 EuroCargo range. In particular for Towing versions, the choice of Rear Axle Ratio depends on the mission the vehicle is used for most of the amount of time (e.g. the vehicle is used as a solo version for 90% of time and as a towing version for the remaining 10% of time or vice versa). If the vehicle is used for towing missions for most of the time, a higher Rear Axle Ratio should be considered for achieving higher efficiency (e.g.
lower fuel consumption ), taking into account that the same vehicle, when used in solo condition, will not give the same efficient results. A special effort has also been made to illustrate for each version - available tyres, rear axle ratios with performance data at 2700 rpm (max. engine power), 2860 rpm (Opi system calculation) and current performance for E14, E16 & E18 Engine Power. In addition to theoretical truck speed at max. engine power reported in all data sheets, you will find enclosed calculated speeds taking into account the application of a box body. This data is provided for reference only since calculations are done on a "worst case hypothesis" basis.
Current performance is calculated for : * Operation at full G.V.W. in fastest gear * Operation at full G.C.W. in fastest gear * Speed on Ground Level * Speed on 1% Gradient (a small difference between 1 % gradient and ground level speed gives an indication of the ratio suitability both for motorway and hill/mountain roads operation, a significant difference will indicate a combination of tyres/axle ratio not suitable for hill/mountain operation).
