Should this not be the case, or if it is necessary to change their original position, the Bodybuilder must work out a new arrangement in compliance with local regulations. The new position must ensure reliability and safety a s well as easy access for operation by the user. 2.25 Front protection (FUP) On vehicles in the New EuroCargo range fitted with this device, the Front Underrun Protection bar (FUP) can be fixed to the frame in various positions.

In this way the fitter can adjust the position of the protection, in compliance with directive CE 2000/40, according to the set-up of the fitted vehicle, the loads on the axles and/or the tyres fitted. Table 2.24 For vehicles 150E, 180E and 260EK the first cab access step is fixed to the FUP. If a fitter intends to modify the position of the FUP he must, in this case, replace the step fixing bracket so as to guarantee that it remains in the same position with respect to the cab itself. The above requirements serve to optimise the front attitude angle of the vehicle should the FUP bar be found to be too low as a result of the fitting operations.
