L-4733A/L-4733AW/L-4533A/L-4533AW/L-4033A/L-4033AW Printer Driver Guide Various Print Settings Setting Spot Colors You can print by replacing a specific RGB value for the print data with the ink value for printing. You can specify up to 16 areas. This is useful for accurately reproducing colors. c Important: ❏ We recommend performing test printing while adjusting the ink value. Because the ink may not dry if the setting is too high, the path channel for the press may be soiled. ❏ The RGB value may change when setting color correction from the printer driver (ICM), or when print data is created in a mode other than RGB.
If this occurs, output the print data to a file, and then use the Spot Color Support Tool to open the TIFF file generated within the output file, and then check the color value (RGB value) for the area set as a spot color. ❏ This function is only effective when printing from the printer driver. There are two ways to specify a spot color. ❏ Specify ink value directly Specify the ink value directly in the preset's create/edit screen. U “Specify ink value directly” on page 22 ❏ Specify the Ink Value with the Spot Color Tool Specify the ink value using the Spot Color Tool in the preset's create/edit screen.
U “Specify the Ink Value with the Spot Color Tool” on page 23 Specify ink value directly Specify the ink value directly in the preset's create/edit screen. A Create print data in RGB mode. B Determine the RGB value for the area specified as a spot color in the print data. Adjust the RGB value for the spot color area of the image to a value that is not used in other areas. Note: ❏ Because the spot color is applied to all areas with the same RGB value, if the specified RGB value is also used in other areas, the image is not printed correctly. Do not use the same RGB value for other areas. ❏ You can use the Spot Color Support Tool to easily calculate unused RGB values.
