VESPER Winter driving It is important to carry out the necessary preparations and inspections before driving the vehicle in the winter. Please observe the following before the cold season: ■ The engine coolant expansion tank must contain a sufficient amount of antifreeze. Caution! To obtain better antifreeze protection, different types of antifreeze are not allowed to be mixed. Economical driving ■ Choose electric driving mode to minimize vehicle fuel consumption. ■ Charge your car regularly. Get in the habit of starting your journey with a full high voltage battery. ■ Find out where the charging stations are located. If possible, select a parking space with a charging station.
■ Drive the vehicle smoothly and avoid abrupt acceleration and deceleration. Keep enough distance from other vehicles to reduce braking times. ■ Balance power requirements by operating the accelerator pedal. Observe the power meter on the instrument cluster to avoid starting the engine unnecessarily. The electric motor is more efficient at low speeds . ■ Try to keep windows closed at high speeds. ■ Correctly inflating the tires will reduce drag on the road and therefore improve the overall fuel economy. ■ Extra weight can affect your fuel efficiency. Keep the vehicle clear of unnecessary items that can add weight. ■ Keep the fuel tank full.
The more fuel in the tank, the heavier the vehicle, which can not only provide better traction but also prevent condensation inside the tank. ■ It is recommended using engine oil with lower viscosity during the cold weather. Engine oil with lower viscosity facilitates starting in cold weather and reduces the fuel consumption while the engine is cold. ■ Cold weather puts additional burdens on the battery. Check the battery status. ■ To prevent the washer fluid from freezing, please add anti- freeze washer fluid into the washer fluid tank. Using winter tires and anti-skid chains in winter road conditions can improve the driving performance of the vehicle significantly. 222
