Vehicles for export, excluding Canadian vehicles, have the full 17-digit VIN on the frame. The 8-digit chassis number is embossed into the bottom flange right hand side of the frame rail and the top flange left hand side of the frame rail, 42 inches (1065 mm) back from the front edge of the frame rail.
