16 Seats and Safety Equipment ISOFIX may be damaged in the event of a serious accident/collision. You may need to repair and replace some components. Check ISOFIX after a collision. Airbags can enhance protection for passengers using seat belts. Although modern Airbags are designed to reduce the risk of injury during rapid inflation, all Airbags must inflate quickly to provide the intended effect. Airbag Position Front Driver Airbag Airbag System Airbag Indicator Depending on the vehicle configuration, the system includes the following Airbags: • Front driver Airbag. • Front passenger Airbag.
(if equipped) As shown in Figure A above, the front driver Airbag is located in the center of the steering wheel. All vehicle Airbags are marked with the word "AIRBAG" on the trim panel or on the label near their installation location. For front Airbags, the "AIRBAG" label on the driver's seat is located in the center of the steering wheel, while for the front passenger, it is located on the instrument panel. For side impact Airbags, the "AIRBAG" label is located on the side of the backrest, near the door. For curtain Airbags, the "AIRBAG" label is located on the roof panel trim. On the instrument panel, there is an Airbag indicator displaying an Airbag symbol.
The system will check if there is a failure in the Airbag circuit and provide appropriate advice through the indicator. See the "Instruments and Controls" chapter for more information.. As shown in Figure B above, the front passenger Airbag is located in the side instrument panel of the passenger.
