SC-B9580 User's Guide Control Panel Menu 95 Item Parameter Explanation Heater Heater On Select whether or not (On/Off) to use the heater. When this is set to Off, the heater does not heat up even when a print job is received or preheating is started manually. Off Heater temperature 30 to 55˚C (86 to 131˚F) When using the heater, it will heat up to the temperature set here. The heater starts heating when a print job is received or when preheating is started manually. Drying Time per Pass 0.0 to 10.0 Secs Specify how long the printer stops feeding media to allow the ink to dry after printing one pass. You can select a value between 0.0 and 10.0 seconds.

The time needed for the ink to dry varies with ink density and the media used. If the ink blurs on the paper, set a longer time for drying the ink. The longer the drying time, the more time required for printing. Blank Area Feed Quick Sets the media feeding speed for blank areas when there is a blank area in the print data that is longer than the print head length. Standard Proceed to Drying af- ter Print Short Feed, No Rewind Select whether or not (Off) to feed the end of the printout to the heater after printing.

As described below, there are two patterns for the length of media to feed for drying and how it should be processed; this allows you to select the operation from a combination of four patterns. Length to feed to end of printout: You can select to feed to the bottom of the drying fan (short feed) or to the bottom of the heater (long feed). If you are worried about uneven coloring due to the drying time, set to Long Feed, Rewind or Long Feed, No Rewind. Rewind/No Rewind: You can select whether or not to rewind the media that has been fed for drying when the next job is received.

We recommend Short Feed, No Rewind or Long Feed, No Rewind if you want to print immediately after cutting the media. When Short Feed, Rewind or Long Feed, Rewind is set, the media is automatically rewound before printing when the next print job is received, which avoids creating any unnecessary margins. This is suitable for continuous printing. If you need to cut the media when Short Feed, Rewind or Long Feed, Rewind is set, hold down the [ ] button (rewind button) to return the end of the printout to the cutter groove before cutting. If you cut the media without rewinding it manually, the next print job will not be performed correctly.
