Changing the Paper Width The printer is initially set to print on 58 mm {2.28"} width paper. If you use 60 mm {2.36"} width paper, remove the spacer installed in the printer. You can also install it again to use 58 mm width paper. • Do not increase the paper width after you have used a narrower width because if the printer has ever beenused with narrow paper, part of the head contacts the platen. Therefore, when a wider setting is used, part of the head or the cutter blade may be worn out, which can cause poor printing and a blunt cutter blade. • When changing the paper width, be sure to change the setting for the paper width with the customized value.
To set the customized value, see "Software Settings" on page 42 . Removing the Spacer Follow the steps below to remove the spacer when you use 60 mm width paper. 1 Make sure that the printer is turned off. 2 Press the open button to open the roll paper cover. 28
