The purpose of the community engagement was to understand the level of support for the draft Master Plan, and to further understand the specific concerns of the draft Master Plan, prior to creating a final Master Plan for endorsement by Council. The final Master Plan would also then require public consultation undertaken by the City of West Torrens in accordance with the Local Government Act . The majority (390 or 81%) of people who completed the survey identified that they were a resident or trader within the West Torrens Council area.
The public consultation period for the draft Master Plan ran for a period of four weeks; from 13 February 2023 to 13 March 2023, and was promoted through a wide range of channels including a letterbox drop, print and social media, email, radio, and a dedicated Adelaide Football Club Engagement Hub website. General themes from feedback The overwhelming majority of feedback provided through the survey, email submissions, and the drop-in sessions relate to the impact on existing trees, impact and access to community land, traffic, car parking, and noise.
