Depending on the vehicle, the wireless charging function is located in the stowage compartment of the centre console → Fig. 112 1 . The wireless charging function enables wireless energy transmission by electromagnetic induc- tion over a short distance. The maximum charging capacity is 15 W. You need a suitable Qi-certified mobile tele- phone in order to use the function. The lining mat → Fig. 112 1 has a telephone symbol that marks the centre position of the wireless charg- ing function.
To charge a mobile device with Qi function, place the mobile device screen up in the middle of the charging device, making sure the entire contact surface is placed in the stowage compartment. The charging process starts automatically. Con- sult the operating manual and manufacturer for the mobile telephone to find out if it is compati- ble with the Qi standard. If the mobile telephone has not been positioned correctly in the stowage area or is too large, it cannot be detected or cannot be detected cor- rectly. In certain circumstances, the Infotainment system will report that there is a foreign object in the stowage compartment.
To do this, remove the mobile telephone and place it correctly in the stowage area for the wireless charging function. Qi-certified mobile telephones with larger di- mensions cannot be charged wirelessly. Owner's manual 140
