When users add a new driver and has setup the communication parameters, the COMMGR forms a channel connecting the assigned communication port in the driver and when the computer reboots, the COMMGR will automatically start the driver.

However, when the channel for connecting the driver is not properly functioning, for instance, the existed network card or USB cable is removed, the COMMGR will automatically stop the driver and ERROR status is displayed. Meanwhile, a small red ‘X’ appears on the COMMGR icon of the Windows system tray. When connection restores, the status for the driver also returns to OK . 2-43
