EPSON — Notes on operating

L-6534VW Operation Guide Safety Instructions and Notes on Usage Notes on Usage Notes on the usage environment ❏ We recommend that this product is used at room temperature, from 20 to 28˚C. ❏ Use this product not higher than 2,000 m above sea level. ❏ Do not suddenly change the temperature in the room where this product is installed. If the temperature changes suddenly, drops of water (condensation) could occur inside the press which may have an adverse effect on operations. ❏ The press uses UV ink which cures in sunlight or fluorescent light. Prevent external light from entering the press as this can cause errors such as a clogged nozzle head. Take particular care with sunlight.

❏ When opening the rear cover, make sure the light shield curtain is securely closed to prevent exterior light from entering the press. If exterior light enters the press, the UV ink cures causing clogged nozzles and malfunctions to occur. ❏ When opening the front or rear covers while the power is off, perform total color cleaning from Maintenance - Head Maintenance - Manual Head Maintenance the next time you startup the press. If covers are left open for an extended period, the nozzles may be clogged. Standard extended periods Front cover: 1 hour Rear cover: 3 hours Notes on operating ❏ Note the following points when the press is operating. You may not be able to print.

- Do not cancel processing by turning OFF the power breaker on the press (except under emergency conditions) Once the press is turned OFF , it takes about one minute for the press to start after it is turned back ON . - Do not subject this product to strong shocks. ❏ The front cover and the rear cover do not open during print operations. ❏ Unattended operations are not supported. Do not leave the press unattended while printing. ❏ When printing for 12 hours or more, shutdown the press and perform Daily Maintenance and Startup Inspection. ❏ Make sure the paper core thickness is set correctly when replacing the substrate (within a margin of error of ±0.5 mm).

The roll end position is set automatically based on the entered paper core thickness, and an ultrasonic sensor detects the position to stop printing while some substrate still remains. If the paper core thickness is not set correctly, the trailing edge of the substrate may pass through the nip rollers A without stopping at the roll end position and then stop with a tension error. You need to reload after removing any loaded substrate and this could take a long time to restore. ❏ When performing additional printing, use a roll without any splices. The eye mark sensor may not recognize splices correctly. 18
