IS300/IS300 SportCross – OUTLINE OF NEW FEATURES 16 IS300/IS300 SportCross OUTLINE OF NEW FEATURES The LEXUS IS300 is a high-performance, compact FR (Front engine, Rear wheel drive) sports sedan that has been developed under the NIAS (New Intelligent Athletic Sedan) concept. A sport 5-Door called “IS300 SportCross” has been added to the new line-up. And, the following changes have been made for the 2002 model year. 1. Model Line-Up The IS300 SportCross (5-Door) with 2JZ-GE engine model have been added. JCE10L-AWAVFA (5-Door) The W55 manual transmission has been added to 4-Door sedan model. JCE10L-AEMVFA 2.
Exterior IS300 (4-Door Sedan) The design of the radiator grille has been changed. In addition to the rear combination lights of the dark exterior color vehicle, the dark smoke has also been adopted. As a result, its harmony with the body color has been improved. A rear spoiler with a built-in LED high-mount stop light is optional equipment. The design of the optional 16-inch wheels on the IS300 has been changed. IS300 SportCross (5-Door) A stylish, yet sporty design that is based on the NIAS concept of the IS300 has been adopted. Front and rear bumpers that are sporty and wide have been adopted. A rear spoiler with a built-in LED high-mount stop light is standard equipment.
17-inch x 7.5JJ size wheels for the rear and 17-inch x 7.0JJ size wheels for the front have been adopted. 3. Interior A center armrest is provided as standard equipment on the automatic transmission model and optional equipment on the manual transmission model, in order to improve comfort. Black, soft-feel paint has been adopted for the instrument panel to improve its quality. A leather shift knob is available as optional equipment on all models to improve quality. 2JZ-GE Engine The manual transmission model is provided with a belt tensioner absorber which prevents the belt from vibrating or whining during a sudden engine rpm variation. The manual transmission model uses a super-long travel type flywheel damper. 5. W55 Manual Transmission The W55 manual transmission has been newly adopted on 4-Door sedan model.
