NOTICE Sockets ● Never connect electrical devices that supply electric power, such as solar panels or a bat- tery charger, to the 12-volt socket to charge the 12- volt vehicle battery. This can cause damage to the vehicle and the electronic com- ponents. Please refer to and at the start of the chapter on page 137. ● Use only electrical devices that have been ap- proved in accordance with current guidelines concerning electromagnetic compatibility. ● In order to avoid damage due to voltage fluc- tuations, always switch off any electrical devi- ces before switching the ignition on or off and before starting or stopping the engine.
When the start/stop system automatically deacti- vates and the engine needs to be restarted, there is no need to switch off the connected electrical devices. ● Do not use faulty devices. Depending on the vehicle equipment, there may be 12-volt sockets available in the following lo- cations: ● Never connect electrical devices requiring more than the rated power to a 12-volt socket. The vehicle's electrical system can be dam- aged if the maximum power output is excee- ded. – Upper part of the centre console. The sockets can be used as the power supply for electrical devices with a maximum rating of 120W.
The sockets in the vehicle can be used to connect electrical devices. ● Observe the operating instructions of the elec- trical devices. The connected electrical devices must be in good working condition and free from malfunctions. Using electrical consumers with the ignition switched on or off will drain the 12-volt battery. Please note that the sockets only work when the ignition is switched on. Unshielded devices can cause interference with the radio and vehicle electronics. The fuse can blow as a result of extended opera- tion of the 12-volt sockets at maximum power.
NOTICE If electrical devices are used near the rear window antenna, interference with the re- ception of AM radio signals may occur. ● Never use the 12-volt sockets at maximum power for longer than 10 minutes. ● Always use only one 12-volt socket with maxi- mum power. Owner's manual 138
