3 i5601E Digital Display calibration Max Throttle This is displayed only if the trolling mode is set for “SPLIT.” This specifies the maximum percentage that throttle will reach. The percentage ranges between 10-100. Example: A setting of 70 means that when the handle is advanced to the WOT position the engine will be at 70% of its maximum normal throttle. Valve (Trolling) Cal The Valve (Trolling) Calibration Screen allows user to view the current Troll Calibration Points and permits user to enter new values. All Trolling systems require Setup prior to initial use. Note: The transmission type must be set before calibration can be accomplished.
Calibration Notes If, after using troll, it is determined that when forward idle is first entered in the troll mode the shaft is spinning too fast, you can go into the trolling calibration on the digital display menu and lower the “Min Prop RPM” value. If the shaft is spinning too slowly or not at all you can increase the “Min Prop RPM” value. If, after using troll, you determine that the maximum trolling speed is too low, you can go into the trolling calibration on the digital display and raise the “Max Prop RPM” value. If the trolling max speed is too high reduce the value of the “Max Prop RPM.” On some occasions, the minimum value may be too low for the valve to operate.
If lowering the value does not slow down the prop speed, try increasing the value until the prop responds and then adjust accordingly. Other Types of Trolling Some transmissions have a high-end type of trolling that measures the RPM of the propellor shaft. The propeller shaft speed is then computer controlled. The setup for this type of trolling varies by manufacturer. Consult transmission information for details. Note: Please refer to “Appendix C - Useful Information & Notes” for trolling calibration procedures for the SY GEN III with ZF trolling and the 6LY3 with Kanzaki E-type trolling. © 2011 Yanmar Marine International • Rev.
