Handbook 652 Body Electrical Diagnosis Ground Points Ground points are indicated by a triangle with a two-letter ID. The ground point ID is listed in the cross reference at the end of the system circuit diagram. The cross reference refers to a page in the Electrical Wiring Routing section which shows the ground point location. Like splice points and harness-to-harness connectors, the first letter of the ground point ID once stood for body, engine, or instrument panel, but that convention was discontinued with the 2006 MY.
HINT When diagnosing an electrical problem, Step 2 of the 6-Step Diagnostic Process (Determine Related Symptoms) recommends that you operate circuits that share the same ground point to determine if the problem is in the ground connection. Use the Ground Points section for identifying circuits sharing the same ground point. Technical Training 89
