2 System Overview Displays Yanmar electronic engines use a flat panel digital display or a round style gauge that may have a digital display imbedded in the dial face. The displays can be mixed in a variety of ways, by engine type, to meet many applications. The displays with a digital readout perform the following tasks: Display the data that is present on the CAN Bus. Display all alarms that occur in the system. Permit the selection of various features. Allow the setup and calibration of many of the devices on the system.
Monitor the condition of the devices connected to the CAN Bus and assure a safe shutdown if the condition of the CAN Bus or the required devices are not operating properly. i5601E Digital Display The 6LY3, 6CX, SY GEN III, and BY2 Unlimited with a Stern Drive, use an i5601E Digital Display. (because of the versatility and capabilities of the i5601E, extensive information is provided later in this manual in “Section 3 - i5601E Digital Display.”) Gauges All engines may use a variety of 2 and 3 inch round guages to increase application flexibility, such as monitoring Fuel, Trim, Oil Pressure, etc. i5601E:
Digital Display The BY2 Unlimited for Marine Gear applications is normally supplied with a round tachometer gauge that has a digital display (shown right). It can also use the i5601E as an option with the 780757SDFB or the newer 780989SDFD as a replacement for the round gauge. The BY2 Unlimited applications that use the round style tachometer gauge with the digital display may add additional round gauges without adding an additional tachometer. All engine systems that have an i5601E digital display must use a tachometer as the first round gauge in the gauge series. The round tachometer decodes the information from a specific engine for the other gauges in the set.
The round tachometers used with the i5601E do not have a digital display in the tachometer face.
