3 i5601E Digital Display 6LY3, 6CX Changing the Engine Selection from 6LY3 to 6CX using the i5601E Note: The 6CX engine covered in this book is the electronic version identified as 6CX530. CAUTION If the Default Monitor command or the Set System Default command is selected the system will revert to a 6LY3 system and need to be reset to a 6CX system. If the engine to be installed is a 6CX it is necessary to change all of the i5601E Digital Displays from 6LY3 to 6CX engine type. If you are not familiar with the general use of the i5601E Digital Display see page 3:7 (this section) before proceeding with this setup. Follow these steps. 1.
Turn on the system and wait for an operating screen to appear. This usually takes about 5 seconds. 2. With no button legends showing at the bottom of the screen push and hold the right most button. The Main Menu will appear after a few seconds. 3. Use the down arrow then the right arrow to select “Factory Settings.” 4. Enter the Password code by selecting “Factory Settings” from the Main Menu. The buttons labeled “1”, “2”, “3”, & “4” are used to enter the respective digit of the 4 digit password code. Repeated pressing of the digit button will cause an incrementing of the digit’s value, which is displayed in the window above.
Upon completion of the 4 digit code, the “Enter” button is pressed and the code will be validated. Once the code is entered the “Unlocked” status will remain until the i5601E is powered off and on.
