Check for the following: overall grade or slope changes in elevation such as hills or open trenches obstacles such as buildings, railroad crossings, or streams signs of utilities - “buried utility” notices - gas or water meters - drop boxes - manhole covers - utility facilities without overhead lines - junction boxes - light poles - sunken ground traffic access soil type and condition loose material such as fencing or cable Identify safety hazards and classify jobsite if attachment will penetrate ground.
